Many times I sit in front of the computer working on things that aren’t my work in progress (WIP) and feel a great heaviness in my chest. I want to work on the things that preoccupy my mind night and day, day and night. Unfortunately for me, I have to have a daytime job to take care of the bills and such. (That’s a right now thing.)
I find myself oftentimes getting lost in the thoughts of creating scenes for my upcoming works.
Another issue I have are my “squirrel moments” that seem to happen more often than I’d like to since my current goal is to focus on the scene at hand and not bounce around the work. I don’t know how all other authors work but I have clear cut scenes that come to me in perfect clarity. The problem is it could be a scene for something that happens closer to the end of the book or an add-on that happens at the end of it. I don’t know ho those who write a book from beginning to end do it. I just can’t seem to move from Chapter 1 to Chapter 2 and so on. My creative mind just can’t seem to wrap itself around such a concept.
In other news, another one of my books is now an audio book. I get more and more excited every time I hear someone give my words a voice. It keeps the biggest smile on my face.
